Where Do We Go From Here

High above the city lights in a quiet bar we sit
The music's soft the lights are low, the conversation's rich
In candlelight we watch below as the town begins to sleep
And up above the questions of love in the bar where we would meet

If friends are friends, and lovers love, where does that leave us
The best of friends in the best of times but our love is still untouched
It looks as if the candle light is beckoning a tear
But we're just friends so where do we go from here

We talk about the times gone by, the good ones and the bad
We talk about the things we did and all the friends we had
You with him and I with her and how we got along
Now here we sit in candle light when all the rest have gone

If friends are friends, and lovers love, where does that leave us
The best of friends in the best of times, but our love is still untouched
It looks as if the candle light is beckoning a tear
But we're just friends so where do we go from here

If friends are friends, and lovers love, where does that leave us
The best of friends in the best of times, but our love is still untouched
It looks as if the candle light is beckoning a tear
But we're just friends so where do we go from here

If friends are friends then where do we go from here
